What is here
The directory covers Roman Catholic churches in England, Wales and Scotland. Each listing has an address and, where available, Mass times and parish contact details. Of the churches listed, 3,127 have a postcode, 3,158 appear on a map and 2,658 include a short history of the building.
We collect Mass times from parish and church websites. When we have the source page, it is linked beneath the schedule so you can check the latest information before travelling.
Great Britain has 33 Catholic jurisdictions, including the territorial dioceses, the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham, the Bishopric of the Forces, and the Ukrainian and Syro-Malabar eparchies. There are currently pages for 31 of them. A church's listing notes when it belongs to an Eastern Catholic Church or the Ordinariate.
What is missing
Not every listing has Mass times. A blank means that we do not yet have a verified schedule for that church, not that the parish has not published one or that Mass is not celebrated there. Coverage varies by nation:
| Nation | Counties | Churches | Publish times | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| England | 48 | 2,513 | 2,422 | 96% |
| Wales | 8 | 168 | 161 | 96% |
| Scotland | 32 | 478 | 466 | 97% |

Church locations and three manually adjusted county boundaries use data from OpenStreetMap: © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence.
Postcodes and the coordinates derived from them come from the ONS Postcode Directory, published on the ONS Open Geography Portal under the Open Government Licence v3.0:

County and council-area boundaries come from the ONS Counties and Unitary Authorities dataset. The Stockton-on-Tees boundary comes from OS Open Boundary-Line. Both are available under the same licence:

Where a church's description draws on a statutory listing, it comes from Historic England, Historic Environment Scotland or Cadw, again under the Open Government Licence v3.0, and the church's own page names which one, links the listing and says that we summarised it. Cadw's material is Crown copyright, Welsh Government.
Photographs are credited individually beneath each one, with the photographer and the licence they published under.
What we do not do
We do not list seasonal schedules for Christmas, Holy Week or holy days of obligation, as these change each year. Please check the parish website for them. We also avoid naming current clergy in our own descriptions because appointments change. Where a church has an entry on Taking Stock, we link to it rather than reproduce its text.
Corrections
If a Mass time is wrong or a church is missing, please let us know. If possible, include a link to the parish's current information.
