Church of St Bede, Croxley Green

Introduction

St Bede's Roman Catholic Church in Croxley Green was built in 1958 and consecrated in 1975.

Parish life

St Bede's is part of a small group of volunteers from the Watford area who meet to help local people in poverty. The parish has a Catinians group. The parish has flower arrangers. The parish has an SVP (Saint Vincent de Paul Society) group. The church has a very small car park, with street parking nearby in adjacent roads just off Baldwins Lane.

Sacraments and pastoral care

The parish offers a monthly preparation course for parents and godparents of infants to be baptised. Confirmation is usually received during a person's early teenage years, as part of a Sacramental Programme delivered through the parish.

Confirmation candidates must be at least 14 years of age during the current school year. Couples wishing to marry in the Catholic Church are advised to speak with the parish priest before booking venues, as legal paperwork can take about 6 months.

The parish asks to be contacted if anyone knows of someone housebound who would like to receive Holy Communion at home or celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Those in need of the Sacrament of the Sick are asked to contact the parish priest.
