Corpus Christi Church, Bournemouth

Introduction

The church is built in Early English style, using red brick with stone dressings.

Architecture and furnishings

A brass in the church, made by Hardman, commemorates Baroness von Hugel, who died in 1901. The nave has six bays, with double-chamfered arches resting on octagonal columns. The aisles feature paired lancets with hoodmould and stringcourse, and a lancet clerestory runs above. The chancel has two bays with a polygonal apse, and detached stone colonnettes of the inner lancet arches descend to a stringcourse just above the altar.

The south chapel has an apse, and the north chapel is transeptal. The main organ is located in the Organ Loft. A small organ stands near the Lady Chapel. The church also has a piano.
