About Corpus Christi
Corpus Christi is a Roman Catholic church in Wokingham, Berkshire. It is part of the Diocese of Portsmouth.
Introduction
The Catholic parish of Corpus Christi in Wokingham was established in 1902, and its present church was built in 1970.
Parish life
The parish runs a toddler group for children aged 4 and under, meeting on Wednesday mornings during school term. The toddler group has run since 1989 and meets in the Keenan Rooms. The Corpus Christi Africa Fund has supported two projects in East Africa since its founding after the 2004 tsunami.
Sacraments and pastoral care
The parish offers a wide range of Sacramental Programmes for young and old, from Baptism to First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Confession is available for 30 minutes before each weekday Mass and for one hour before the Saturday Vigil Mass.
Visiting
The toddler group is equipped with tables, chairs, and a wide range of toys stored on site. A snack of different fruits is served to the children midway, followed by tea or coffee and biscuits to the adults. The toddler group sessions end with a communal singing activity and sometimes a story. Corpus Christi signed up to the Live Simply award in Spring 2023.
