About Holy Cross and St. Francis
Holy Cross and St. Francis is a Roman Catholic church in Birmingham, West Midlands. It is part of the Archdiocese of Birmingham.
Music and liturgy
Two Children's Liturgists lead the Liturgy of the Word discussions with young people on a six-weekly rota. At the beginning of Mass, the priest presents the children with a candle and a Bible which accompany them into the church hall.
The parish can provide an organist for funerals, but has limited facilities to play tape or CD music. The parish offers the option of a Requiem Mass in church or a funeral service elsewhere.
Visiting
The church, hall and presbytery stand together on one site at the start of Signal Hayes Road, Walmley, near the traffic lights. A short prayer service called 'The Reception of the body' may be held in the Church the night before a funeral.
