About Holy Family, Oldham
Holy Family, Oldham is a Roman Catholic church in Oldham, Greater Manchester. It is part of the Diocese of Salford.
Parish life
Most parish services are conducted in English, without stylized variations or modern interpretations of the Liturgy. Garden work began in July 2019, involving 40 volunteers over two years. The garden includes tables, seats, and a children's area with a willow dome.
The parish runs a formal RCIA programme preparing adults and young people for reception into the Catholic Church. The parish maintains a Sick, Housebound, Outreach and Charity Apostolate.
Sacraments and pastoral care
Couples requesting marriage in the Catholic Church normally complete a preparation programme lasting at least six months. Couples must approach one of the priests directly at least six months before their intended wedding date. The Wisdom Group has produced a series of Home Celebrations for children and their families on the Sacramental Programme, each including prayer, scripture, discussion, an activity and a symbolic action.
