Our Lady and Saint Peter, Woodhall Spa

Parish life

The parish serves Woodhall Spa, Horncastle, Coningsby and Metheringham. A group of Third Order Carmelites offers a Zoom course on Carmelite philosophy and theology, open to all.

The parish's 'Journey in Faith' enables enquirers to explore Catholicism and eventually be welcomed into full communion with the Catholic community. The RCIA process is supported by catechists and parishioners, many of whom have themselves been through the RCIA. The RCIA includes meetings for prayer, discussion and learning, usually on a weekly basis.

Places of Welcome is for anyone involved in running hospitality from parish premises. Seventeen towns and cities in Nottingham Diocese have a Street Pastors scheme which reaches out to young people. Youth 2000 seeks to draw young people into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Marriage Week is an annual celebration offering the opportunity to support and promote marriage and family life.

The 'God Who Speaks' team offers a Novena of readings and prayers as action to respond to climate change. The 'Being a Disciple' series was run in conjunction between the Diocese of Nottingham and Catholic Voices over four evenings on Zoom in January 2021. The Bishop has announced a Five-Year Diocesan Mission Plan entitled 'Go, make disciples'.
