About Our Lady of Fatima

Our Lady of Fatima is a Roman Catholic church in Birmingham, West Midlands. It is part of the Archdiocese of Birmingham.

History

The parish began as new housing expanded west of Birmingham during the 1930s. The Passionists acquired land in Higgins Lane for a future church, and the Ridgacre Road Community Centre was later used as a Mass centre. A dual-purpose parish hall was built in Higgins Lane between 1952 and 1955. Our Lady of Fatima was formally established as a parish in 1955. The present church was built in 1977–78 and consecrated by Archbishop George Patrick Dwyer on 7 October 1978.
