About Parafia Chrystusa Króla
Parafia Chrystusa Króla is a Roman Catholic church in London, Greater London. It is part of the Archdiocese of Westminster.
History
The building’s foundation stone was laid on 17 October 1883. It was designed by Searle and Hayes in a historicist style with a two-part façade flanked by two towers. The Polish parish began with a service in the Xaverian Brothers’ chapel at Clapham South on 2 February 1948. The badly damaged former United Reformed Church was later purchased, and the parish priest and parishioners undertook extensive repair and restoration work. The restored church was dedicated to Christ the King on 2 July 1978.
