About Saint Ann
Saint Ann is a Roman Catholic church in Banstead, Surrey. It is part of the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton.
Parish life
The choir uses the organ and/or keyboard and encourages additional instrumental accompaniment when available. The parish has a Finance Committee that oversees the parish's finances. The parish has a group called Propagation of the Faith. The parish has a St Vincent de Paul Society group.
The parish has a baptismal preparation programme to help parents prepare to celebrate the sacrament. An annual Mass in November for those who have died and an annual blessing of the graves are held.
Sacraments and pastoral care
Regular attendance at Sunday Mass for at least six months before the baptism date is taken as a sign of goodwill. The Bishop requires one year's notice for a marriage. Pre-Marriage Preparation Courses are considered essential for those marrying in the parish. The Saint Ann's SVP Conference, founded in 1965, visits housebound parishioners, residents of local care homes, and the sick, bringing them Holy Communion and friendship and offering transport to parish events.
