Saint Conval's Church, Linwood is a Roman Catholic church in Linwood, Renfrewshire. It is part of the Diocese of Paisley.
Introduction
Saint Conval's Church in Linwood, within the Diocese of Paisley, is the third church in the town and opened in 1967. The parish was founded in 1898 to serve the local Catholic community of Linwood.
History
The original church was the Church of Saint Ethelburga, which served the mining communities of Inkerman and was transported whole to Linwood when the mine was fully worked. The church contains a War Memorial, unusual for a Catholic church, because there was no civic centre in Linwood when the parish was established.
Sacraments and pastoral care
The parish arranges the Sacrament of the Sick (Anointing) before hospital admission, either at the church or through the hospital chaplain. The parish works with chosen undertakers to schedule funerals for loved ones, with notices published in the Parish Bulletin.
