What the parish's page says
The only ‘Sunday’ Mass now celebrated here is the anticipated (‘vigil’) Mass at 5.30 pm on Saturday evenings (times may vary for Christmas and Easter). A weekday Mass is celebrated on Fridays at 10 am and is usually attended by school pupils in term time. The resident sisters lead worship on Monday and Wednesday mornings.

Introduction

SS Gabriel and Raphael in Tonypandy is described as the mother church of the Rhondda Valleys.

Architecture and furnishings

The church was opened in 1886 and completely re-ordered and re-consecrated in 2013. The church incorporates the statue of Our Lady of Penrhys from the closed church of the same name in Ferndale. The church incorporates the baptismal font from the former church of the Immaculate Conception in Treorchy.

Visiting

The resident sisters lead worship on Monday and Wednesday mornings. The parish is actively developing its historic archives for the Rhondda Fawr. Drivers can reach the church from the A4058 roundabout near Tonypandy Railway Station, though weekday on-street parking is severely restricted. Rail travellers alight at Tonypandy station and walk about 15 minutes up Trinity Road to the church. Stagecoach bus routes 120, 122, 130, 170 and 172 stop on Dunraven Street, a minute's walk from Trinity Road to the church.
