Music and liturgy

In 1967, the Sanctuary was redesigned to permit Mass facing the people and greater participation in the liturgy. In the Spring of 1968, House Masses commenced in the homes of the Parish on a systematic basis.

Parish life

The parish has a Flowers group coordinated by Josie Coward and Liz Doherty. The parish has a Clerical Assistant, Vanessa Barker. The parish has a Church Cleaning group coordinated by Valerie Hull. The parish has Altar Servers coordinated by the parish priest.

The parish has a Hall Hire service coordinated by the Parish Office. A Parish Newsletter was launched by the Saint Mary’s Entertainments Group in February 1967. In October 1966 the first All Night Vigil from the Parish to the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes took place. Late in 1967, the Saint Mary’s Brownie Pack was established.

The Parish Co-ordinating Committee was formed in May 1968 to co-ordinate all the life of the Parish. The parish has a representative on the Deanery Pastoral Council. The Ecumenical Liturgy Group provides material for special ecumenical services and celebrations.

The parish runs an RCIA programme coordinated by Tina Saunders. The parish has a Children's Liturgy coordinated by Anusha Foy.

Visiting

The Social Room is available for Baptisms, Anniversaries, Funerals and other family events. The Social Room is called the Upper Room, where parishioners can meet friends old and new.
