About St. Stephen

St. Stephen is a Roman Catholic church in Coatbridge, North Lanarkshire. It is part of the Diocese of Motherwell.

Introduction

The parish of Saint Stephen's in Coatbridge began in 1973 and was completed in 1976.

History

Saint Stephen's parish comprised the area between Saint Mary's, Whifflet and All Saints in Coatdyke. At its inception, the largest part of the parish was Sikeside and Greenend. The amalgamation of the two parishes seems to be the most natural and convenient pairing.

Parish life

The parish runs an RCIA programme led by the parish priest and a group of parishioners. The parish has altar servers for boys and girls aged 8 upwards.
