Introduction

The present church of Saint Teresa of the Infant Jesus was opened in December 1971.

Music and liturgy

Architect David Brown designed the church's octagonal plan, and Wilfred Marshall built it. The parish offers daily Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

Parish life

The parish supports the East Newcastle Foodbank and Urban Green, and collaborates with other local churches on events such as the Heaton Festival. The parish live-streams Morning and Evening Prayer every day except Wednesday. Parents who wish to have their children baptised must be attending Mass in the parish and at least one parent must be a baptised Roman Catholic.
