About St. Vincent de Paul

St. Vincent de Paul is a Roman Catholic church in Cambridge, Cambridgeshire. It is part of the Diocese of East Anglia.

Introduction

The present building of Saint Vincent de Paul in Cambridge began as part of the First Eastern General Hospital on Newmarket Road. The parish architect of the time was invited to design a reordering after many years in a precarious condition.

History

Parish service at Houghton Hall lasted there until 1936. When a new Saint Laurence’s Church opened on Milton Road in 1958, the tin tabernacle went across the river and was put up again on Ditton Lane. The interior was turned through ninety degrees by the reordering.
