About St. Vincent de Paul
St. Vincent de Paul is a Roman Catholic church in East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire. It is part of the Diocese of Motherwell.
Introduction
Before the church was built, the 3000 Catholics in the Greenhills district worshipped in St Vincent's School on Sundays, and previously in a house in Pine Crescent.
History
The church cost £300,000 and seated 500 people, serving a five-year-old parish. The church was originally a dual purpose building, with the back half also serving as a hall.
A webcam operates during services. The parish hall is available for functions at reasonable rates.
The parish walking group goes on a monthly walk. The parish runs a parish stall selling Christmas items.
Architecture and furnishings
The side chapel has been dedicated to the Blessed Sacrament for private adoration. Vestments, Tabernacle, Holy Water Fonts, Candle Holders and other gifts were gifted by the parish and friends.
