About The Blessed Sacrament Church, Chelmsford
The Blessed Sacrament Church, Chelmsford is a Roman Catholic church in Chelmsford, Essex. It is part of the Diocese of Brentwood.
Introduction
The Blessed Sacrament Church in Chelmsford, in the Diocese of Brentwood, began as a church-hall completed in 1953 and dedicated to Saint Pius X, with the parish named The Blessed Sacrament. The reordering project was completed on time and on budget with savings from parish volunteers, including refurbishment of the pews by parishioners. A gardening club maintains the parish gardens.
Architecture and furnishings
The design and theme were created with professional designer and sculptress Helen Crabtree, the daughter of Bill Bailey. The final design was approved and budget agreed with Brentwood, and all building works were carried out by Fredrick J. French.
