About The Towers Convent

The Towers Convent is a Roman Catholic church in Upper Beeding, West Sussex. It is part of the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton.

Introduction

The Towers Convent in Upper Beeding, in the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton, was founded by Sr. Mery, who came from a convent school in Paris, France, after being invited by a family leasing the house at the time.

History

The Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, the order that came to run The Towers, was initially founded by Blessed Peter of France around 1715. The school at The Towers grew from an initial five pupils to three hundred over the centuries. The sisters at The Towers remember Mother Teresa's visit and have rare video footage of the occasion.
