About Holy Redeemer
Holy Redeemer is a Roman Catholic church in Italian Mission, Greater London. It is part of the Archdiocese of Southwark.
Introduction
The Scalabrini Missionaries began their presence in England in 1954 in Bedford, expanding to Peterborough in 1958 and to London in 1966.
History
Since 1996 the pastoral service of the Scalabrini Centre of London was extended to Filipino immigrants, and from 2005 to Portuguese immigrants. A Scalabrinian missionary born in Puglia arrived at the Scalabrini Centre of London on 1 September 2010.
Parish life
The parish runs a Monthly Community Catechism. The parish shares community life through processions, celebrations and council meetings with different immigrant communities.
The Scalabrini Centre is dedicated to pastoral and spiritual care of migrants in the Archdiocese of Southwark. The Sinulog celebration includes a procession and an entrance hymn for the Eucharistic celebration.
Sacraments and pastoral care
On weekdays, the Sacrament of Reconciliation is available and the Holy Rosary is recited before Mass. Portuguese Eucharistic Adoration is held after Mass.
