About Our Lady of Lourdes
Our Lady of Lourdes is a Roman Catholic church in Kingswinford, West Midlands. It is part of the Archdiocese of Birmingham.
Introduction
Our Lady of Lourdes in Kingswinford, within the Archdiocese of Birmingham, originated during World War II when locals found it difficult to travel to Brierley Hill for Mass. The present church was built through the generosity and efforts of many people over subsequent years.
Parish life
The parish's spiritual life includes a monthly Novena to Our Lady of Perpetual Help and Benediction, initiated with a Redemptorist Mission in 1997. The Catholic Women's League has supported parish life and events since 1964, and the SVP Conference is an active presence. The church hall supports wider community social activities and a number of organisations. The Kingswinford food bank is open.
