About St Chad and All Saints

St Chad and All Saints is a Roman Catholic church in Sedgley, West Midlands. It is part of the Archdiocese of Birmingham.

Introduction

When the church was consecrated in 1891 a saint's name had to be added, so it was dedicated to Saint Chad and All Saints.

History

The first chapel, dedicated to Saint George, was opened in 1786. The current church was first used for Mass on Sunday 24 August 1823, and was called All Saints. Members of the SVP regularly visit the sick, the vulnerable and the elderly.

Sacraments and pastoral care

The parish maintains a Sick and Housebound list, and parishioners can request that their name or a relative's or friend's name be added by contacting the Parish Office. The parish asks for two months' notice for weekend Mass intentions, with envelopes available in the porch at St Chad.
