Our Lady Queen of the Apostles, Heston

Introduction

The parish of Our Lady Queen of the Apostles in Heston was founded in 1928, and its original church was built the following year. The present church was built in 1964 and consecrated on 19th May 1974.

Parish life

The parish is served by the Society of the Divine Vocations, also known as the Vocationists. The Vocationist Co-operators is a lay group affiliated with the Vocationist Family that prays for vocations and deepens the spirituality of Saint Justin Maria Russolillo.

The parish is paired with Our Lady and Saint Christopher in Cranford. The parish bulletin includes a Spiritual Communion prayer by Saint Alphonsus.

Sacraments and pastoral care

The parish asks for at least a month's notice for baptism to accommodate the preferred date. Churches normally require at least one year's notice for a marriage, so couples should contact the parish priest or office in good time. A Confirmation Certificate issued within six months is required, possibly included on the Baptism Certificate.

The First Holy Communion programme includes a Parents' session to help parents accompany their children. For marriages, the parish requires a minimum of 6 months' notice, and a marriage course can be attended up to two years before the date.
