About Saint Joseph
Saint Joseph is a Roman Catholic church in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire. It is part of the Archdiocese of Glasgow.
Introduction
A new sacristy was opened at the back of the nave, using the veranda area under the balcony.
Architecture and furnishings
The church has an open plan nave with a balcony above and a side sacristy connected to the presbytery via a side door. Heating system and roofing improvements were made in the 1980s. New benches acquired from Saint Stephen’s, Sighthill, replaced the seating.
Parish life
The parish runs a Children's Liturgy to help children participate in the liturgy at their own level. Eucharistic Ministers are appointed by the Archbishop at the request of the parish priest and carry the Blessed Sacrament to the sick on Sundays. The parish has a Parish Pastoral Council that works with the parish priest to advise him on pastoral ministry.
