Introduction

The church was designed by Reginald Fairlie in 1935. The east gable has tooled ashlar three round headed windows, with similar smaller windows elsewhere.

Architecture and furnishings

An engaged column supports a statuette in the centre of the chapel gable wall under a hood. The interior has a ribbed timber ceiling to the chancel. The church has simple harled coped enclosure walls with square harled piers with shallow pyramidal caps flanking the entrance. The church is covered by a slate roof.

Sacraments and pastoral care

The body of the deceased may be received into the church the evening before the funeral, in a short service usually attended only by close family. The readings at a funeral may be read by family and friends of the deceased, or by parishioners if preferred. The undertakers advise on the availability of the organist, as the parish does not have one; if unavailable, hymns are sung by the congregation alone. Only religious music is chosen for the funeral liturgy, and no recorded music can be played because the parish does not have a PLL License.

A piper is allowed to play the pipes outside the church as is the custom, but non-religious music is not permitted inside during liturgies. Flowers can be arranged with a florist chosen by the family and placed on the coffin or on the sanctuary.
