Saint Paul

Introduction

Saint Paul's Milton of Campsie is one of three church communities forming Saint Machan's Parish in the Archdiocese of St Andrews and Edinburgh.

Parish life

At St Paul's, a group of parishioners is responsible for maintaining the Church Hall and arranges social and fundraising events. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priest in administering the Blessed Sacrament at Mass and to the housebound. The parish has a number of readers across the three churches who proclaim the Word at Mass. In each of the churches there are Altar Servers who serve at Sunday Masses and occasionally at funerals and weddings. First Confession, First Holy Communion and Confirmation are normally arranged in conjunction with St Machan's Primary School.

Sacraments and pastoral care

To arrange Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals, the Sacrament of the Sick, or Holy Communion for the housebound, contact the parish priest. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is by appointment, and may be requested for oneself or a sick family member by speaking to the parish priest. If you have a close relative in residential care, or are moving into residential care yourself, and would like Catholic spiritual care, it is strongly advised that you let the local parish priest know directly.

To arrange a Baptism for your child, contact the parish priest by phone, via email, or in person after Mass; he will arrange an appointment and guide you through the process. If you are an adult seeking baptism or reception into the Catholic Church, speak to the parish priest.
