About SS Francis and Therese, Northampton
SS Francis and Therese, Northampton is a Roman Catholic church in Northampton, Northamptonshire. It is part of the Diocese of Northampton.
Introduction
SS Francis and Therese in Northampton, within the Diocese of Northampton, was largely designed and decorated by parishioners and opened in 1989.
History
The need for a Catholic church in Northampton's expanding areas was recognised in the 1980s, and the embryonic parish held Mass in the Anglican St Mary's church on Towcester Road. A generous bequest enabled the purchase of the land and building of the church. The parish community was built serving Hunsbury and surrounding villages as well as new developments such as Grange Park. SS Francis and Therese became part of the Cathedral Hub in 2021. The church shares a car park with the library, reached by turning into Overslade Close.
