About St. Anne
St. Anne is a Roman Catholic church in Keighley, West Yorkshire. It is part of the Diocese of Leeds.
Introduction
The church belongs to the parish of Our Lady of Victories and Saint Anne, which came into being in September 2016. Built in 1840, it is described by the parish as the mother church of the surrounding parishes.
History
The first Mass in Keighley after the Reformation was offered by Father Burgess in 1823. Augustus Welby Pugin drew up plans for the church in the Gothic style. In 1907 an extension was opened that almost doubled the church's length, and the main altar was moved to the opposite end. A high altar and reredos with mosaic panels and statues were added in 1915.
