About St Anne

St Anne is a Roman Catholic church in Stafford, Staffordshire. It is part of the Archdiocese of Birmingham.

History

St Anne's parish in Stafford was formally established in 1966 when its church hall was built, having previously formed part of St Austin's parish with Sunday Mass at Leasowes Primary School. From 1964, daily Mass was celebrated in the dining room of a house in Bodmin Avenue. By February 1967 St Anne's parish had a new church hall, supported by parish collections and fund-raising events. St Anne's parish had a new presbytery and school built in the years after 1970 and up to 1983. Work on the present church began in March 1986, and the building received its final blessing on 2 February 1987.
