St. Charles Borromeo, Rishton is a Roman Catholic church in Rishton, Lancashire. It is part of the Diocese of Salford.

Introduction

St Charles' Church was forced to close at the start of the pandemic in 2020. The repairs to the building were so substantial that it was not viable to consider reopening the building.

Parish life

The St Vincent de Paul Society meets in the chapel every two weeks to plan visits to those in need. Catenians in the parish belong to the Accrington Circle, inaugurated on 21st August 1924, which celebrated its 1000th meeting on 11th January 2010.

Sacraments and pastoral care

In the Diocese of Salford six months notice are required before a wedding, and no date can be confirmed until a preliminary meeting of the couple with the priest. Once every week throughout November, a Holy Mass is offered for the souls of all the departed whose names have been added to the Remembrance Trees.
