About St. Joseph, Accrington
St. Joseph, Accrington is a Roman Catholic church in Accrington, Lancashire. It is part of the Diocese of Salford.
Sacraments and pastoral care
The parish of St Joseph was merged with St Anne's in 2017. Engaged couples must attend a pre-nuptial weekend course in the six months before marriage, and should contact the parish priest at least six months beforehand. After a death, the undertaker contacts the parish priest to arrange a date and time, and then the priest meets the family to plan the Funeral Mass, including choosing hymns and readings. In an emergency, if the parish priest cannot be contacted, the parish advises contacting a neighbouring parish or, in danger of death, Blackburn Hospital for the priest on call. St Joseph's Church is located at Belgarth Road, Accrington BB5 6AH.
