St Justus, Paddock Wood

Parish life

The parish conference of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul works locally to help anyone in need across Tonbridge, Hadlow, and Paddock Wood. The Lifeboat provides support to anyone in the parish or wider community who has experienced bereavement, regardless of how recent or long ago the loss.

Explorers is an older Scout section for young people aged 14 to 18, offering adventure, expeditions, and leadership opportunities. The Social Committee plans and runs the parish social calendar, from summer fairs and Christmas parties to fundraising events and seasonal celebrations.

The parish is proud of its Parish Primary School, Saint Margaret Clitherow, which is a vital part of the parish community. The parish runs a Malawi Twinning Project. The Lifeboat also hopes to organise occasional social outings and activities.

Sacraments and pastoral care

The parish offers preparation for all parents who bring their child for Baptism. Couples intending marriage should contact the Parish Priest at least 6 months prior to the intended date of marriage. The parish asks to be notified about any person who is sick or elderly and cannot come to church and would like to receive Holy Communion or the Anointing of the Sick. The Lifeboat was founded in 2019 by parishioners who recognised the need for support within the community.
