Introduction
St Mary Cheshire - Middlewich, in Middlewich, is a Roman Catholic church designed by architect Edmund Kirby of Birkenhead and opened on 31st May 1891.
History
The current site in King Street was purchased around 1890. The altar and ambo are made from green Connemara marble and white Sicilian marble and contain the relics of Saint Felicity and Saint Felix.
Parish life
The parish has a CAFOD group that meets 4 times a year to encourage fundraising and raise awareness of CAFOD's work. The parish holds a Monthly Community Mass & Lunch at St Mary's on one Monday each month.
The parish has an Adult Formation/RCIA group. The parish has a Confirmation Programme. The parish participates in Churches Together in Holmes Chapel. The parish supports Mary's Meals. The parish SVP group arranges for those unable to come to Mass to receive Holy Communion at home or a friendly visit.
