Music and liturgy

The Lay Funeral Minister leads funeral rites on behalf of the parish when a Requiem Mass is not being celebrated. The parish celebrated St Teresa's feast day by taking home the traditional rose symbolising prayers. The parish hosts an annual Mass of Memorial for all Bereaved Families and invites the Funeral Directors to join.

Parish life

Children receive the sacrament of Baptism in a celebration with their family in the Church on a Saturday. Parishioners serve as sacristans, church cleaners, flower arrangers and running the piety stall. Parishioners serve as altar servers, collectors and volunteers who take up the offertory gifts. Parishioners serve as readers, communion ministers and in music ministry.

Housebound parishioners are joined with the community celebration when the communion minister brings them Holy Communion. Communion ministers are commissioned for the parish. Parishioners support others through preparation programmes for first communion, marriage and RCIA.

The parish has a team of catechists supporting the RCIA process. RCIA involves regular weekly meetings from autumn through to Eastertide. The parish RCIA group attended the Rite of Election Service at the Cathedral on 22/02/26.

The parish has a Ministry Team liaising with the parish priest for liturgy and spiritual growth. Masses, funerals and weddings are streamed from the church via the Church Services platform.

Children in Year 4 of primary school prepare for First Holy Communion and Reconciliation through the parish Sacramental Programme. The parish offers confidential conversations about one's faith journey by appointment.

Visiting

The church has a ramp entrance to the side, a toilet next to the main entrance, and an inside porch that doubles as a heated space with seating and resources for families. The font at the back of the church contains holy water, and visitors are invited to bless themselves with it.
