The building
The Annunciation and St Augustine is a circular Roman Catholic church built in 1963-64 to designs by Raglan Squire & Partners. Its design reworked and reduced the practice's competition entry for Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral. The foundation stone was laid on 19 October 1963, and the church opened and was consecrated on 26 August 1964.
