Brighton | Universities of Sussex and Brighton Chaplaincy

Introduction

The first floor of the Meeting House is a kaleidoscopic round space. The Meeting House has coloured glass windows. The Chapel holds up to 200 people.

Parish life

The Meeting House, located in the middle of campus by Library Square, serves as the base for campus chaplains. The chaplains offer informal support to the whole campus, whether religious or not. The chaplaincy provides weekly religious services and mindfulness and meditation sessions for staff and students.

The ground floor has a large open space and a small kitchen for tea, coffee, or microwave use. Sebastian Juliussen, the Catholic Chaplain, supports students and parishioners with pastoral care, spiritual facilitation, and community building. The chapel on the first floor is open to everyone, whatever their beliefs, for quiet reflection.

Regular events

Rabbi Zalman leads a weekly lunch 'n' learn session in the Students' Union. Weekly Shabbat dinners, Jewish festival events, socials and study sessions are among the recurring events.
