About Christ the Lord
Christ the Lord is a Roman Catholic church in Crawley, West Sussex. It is part of the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton.
Parish life
The parish comprises six communities spread across the town. Engaged couples are offered a pre-marriage course run by the parish. Adults are directed to the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) programme.
Sacraments and pastoral care
The parish office arranges the date for baptism preparation and the baptism itself. The parish's RCIA programme, also called Journey in Faith, serves adults who are non-Christians, non-Catholic Christians, and adult Catholics needing First Holy Communion or Confirmation.
Confirmation is offered to young adults in school years 10, 11 and 12. The diocese expects couples to give at least one year's notice to their parish priest before marrying. The parish advises those with a serious illness that brings danger of death to contact the priest as soon as possible.
