About St Edward the Confessor
St Edward the Confessor is a Roman Catholic church in Pound Hill, West Sussex. It is part of the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton.
Parish life
Young adults in school years 10, 11 and 12 are invited to discern their readiness to be Confirmed by the Bishop. Around 10 volunteers help weekly with packing and distributing food.
The parish runs a Pre-Marriage course for engaged couples. Adults are directed to the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) programme.
Sacraments and pastoral care
Parents registered with Crawley Catholic Parish can arrange their child's baptism by coming to the Parish Office. The Diocese asks that couples contact the Parish Clergy twelve months before planning to marry, to allow time for preparation. RCIA, also known as Journey In Faith (JIF) in the Crawley Parish, caters for adults who are non-Christians, non-Catholic Christians wishing to be received into the Catholic Church, and adult Catholics needing First Holy Communion and/or Confirmation.
