About Corpus Christi
Corpus Christi is a Roman Catholic church in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire. It is part of the Diocese of Middlesbrough.
Introduction
In 2021 the parishes of Saint Gabriel in Ormesby and Corpus Christi in Thorntree were canonically amalgamated to become the new parish of 'Our Lady of Perpetual Help'.
Music and liturgy
The church is located at The Greenway, Thorntree, TS3 9EP. The parish prayer invokes the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Holy Spirit for strength to live according to the Father's will.
Sacraments and pastoral care
Couples seeking marriage must give a minimum of six months' notice to the priest. Children prepare for first Confession and first Communion in the parish's primary schools. Those going into hospital or housebound may request the sacrament of the sick from the priest. RCIA, the process of becoming a Catholic, runs once a year, normally starting in the autumn. Young adults wanting confirmation should speak to the priest.
