About Holy Spirit - Runcorn
Holy Spirit - Runcorn is a Roman Catholic church in Murdishaw, Cheshire. It is part of the Diocese of Shrewsbury.
Parish life
Live and recorded music is provided at all Masses and other celebrations. Books for children and adults are available to explain parts of the Mass and to support growth in faith. Regular contributions to CAFOD are how the parish supports families living in poverty overseas.
Regular events
Women of the parish and surrounding parishes may join the Ladies Group, which meets fortnightly at Saint Edward’s Parish Room for mutual support, speakers, theatre trips, quizzes and walks. A school–parish link person encourages the schools to join parish Masses and events through the year.
Sacraments and pastoral care
Eucharistic ministers assist with Holy Communion at Mass and take it to the sick and housebound at home, in care homes and in hospital. Preparation for Confirmation is offered to children in Year 9 and above through meetings that include prayer, artwork, pilgrim walks and other activities.
