Our Lady of Fatima

Introduction

The Stations of the Cross, crafted in northern France, were the gift of the local editor of The Mid Sussex Times in memory of his parents, Charles and Anne Hayden.

Parish life

Baptism services at the church may include music and singing. The parish hosts a local branch of the Catenians, an international group of Catholic men. The parish has a branch of the Union of Catholic Mothers, open to all women of all ages. The parish provides communion visiting across the Catholic Churches of Mid Sussex.

More than 20 Eucharistic Ministers take Holy Communion to parishioners and the wider community who cannot attend Mass. The parish takes a collection for the local foodbank on the first Saturday/Sunday of each month. The food collected is given to Haywards Heath Foodbank.

The parish runs five baptism preparation courses a year and holds a group baptism roughly every month. The parish offers accompaniment and family formation after baptism.

The parish runs an RCIA programme for those wishing to be baptised, received into full communion, or confirmed, as well as for lapsed Catholics. Sacraments for the sick, including those in hospital, care homes, or housebound, are provided by contacting the parish office.

Visiting

The parish includes the church of Our Lady of Fatima in Staplefield, within the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton. Eucharistic Ministers who are NHS trained volunteers visit the Princess Royal as part of the Hospital Chaplaincy team.
