About Polski Kosciól sw. Jana Ewangelisty
Polski Kosciól sw. Jana Ewangelisty is a Roman Catholic church in Putney, Greater London. It is part of the Archdiocese of Westminster.
History
Charles Lee and his son Sydney Williams Lee designed this church in Putney. The tower was completed in 1865. The sacristy was added in 1898 and the entrance porch in 1910. After a fire in 1967 further alterations were made, creating an additional sacristy with a small room on a higher level.
Parish life
The church's old organ was destroyed by fire in 1967 following a break-in. The parish's altar servers' group, Liturgiczna Służba Ołtarza, has been active since 2010.
