About St. Andrew's Church, North Baddelsdy
St. Andrew's Church, North Baddelsdy is a Roman Catholic church in Southampton, Hampshire. It is part of the Diocese of Portsmouth.
Parish life
The parish runs three age-based youth groups: Stars of Abraham for primary school children, Grail Seekers for secondary school pupils, and Student Youth for teenagers from school year 10 to sixth form.
Sacraments and pastoral care
Parents who want their child baptised must speak directly with a priest, who explains the procedure and helps with preparation. Children preparing for First Holy Communion must be in at least school year 3, and for Confirmation at least school year 9, and are asked to attend one of the three age-based youth groups regularly. Children and teenagers receive First Holy Communion or Confirmation when they are ready, usually after one year of preparation.
