St Charles Borromeo Church is a Roman Catholic church in Hampton-on-the-Hill, Warwickshire. It is part of the Archdiocese of Birmingham.

Introduction

St Charles Borromeo Church in Hampton-on-the-Hill, within the Archdiocese of Birmingham, is a Grade II* listed building first listed on 23-Jan-1987. In 1819 the 9th Lord Dormer bequeathed the house, now the presbytery, and the surrounding land to the church.

Architecture and furnishings

The church was built in 1819 as a Gothick church, with a perpendicular style addition in 1830. The 1819 church had a north/south aisle, and the present nave was built in 1830 at the centre of the west side forming a T-shaped plan with two transepts. The 1830 nave has a gabled west end with pinnacles, diagonal buttresses and a three-light perpendicular traceried window with a moulded four-centred arch window below. The interior has a four-centred arch altar recess with panelled walls and a white marble late Empire altar.
