Introduction

Saint Patrick's Church in Birmingham is a Roman Catholic church built between 1876 and 1895.

Architecture and furnishings

The church is constructed of red brick with stone dressings and a tile roof. The west end features a gabled entrance flanked by buttresses with cupola-like terminations and a canopied statue niche above. To the left of the facade is a baptistry with an apsed end. To the right of the facade stands a bell turret with pronounced gargoyles.

The chancel has a flat east end with an elaborate reredos featuring relief panels and much crocketting. The chancel walls retain some angels with outspread wings.

St Patrick's has stood on Dudley Road since 1877. The interior includes French Gothic architecture, Hardman stained glass, a carved high altar, an alabaster font, and a historic Norman & Beard pipe organ. Children's Liturgy welcomes children from age 3 upward, accompanied by trained volunteer catechists.
