About Blessed Trinity, Wickersley
Blessed Trinity, Wickersley is a Roman Catholic church in Wickersley, South Yorkshire. It is part of the Diocese of Hallam.
Introduction
Blessed Trinity in Wickersley, within the Diocese of Hallam, was built as a multipurpose church on land purchased by a parish priest.
History
In 2003, Blessed Trinity was twinned with St Mary's Herringthorpe, and their priest became parish priest of Blessed Trinity. Since November 2017, Blessed Trinity has been twinned with the current parish of a former priest.
Architecture and furnishings
Initially, screens separated the altar from the body of the church, which served as a hall for social and church business until a purpose-built hall was added during a later parish priest's time. A wishing well is located just inside the church.
Visiting
The parish has a Ladies Group, People in Need Group, Prayer Group, and Choir. A box for items for the food bank is situated in the entrance porch. The memorial garden and car park were built during Father Shaun's time (1989–1996). The church hall was added during Father White's time (1977–1984).
