Christ the King and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Church

Parish life

The parish has a Music Group. The parish's Bereavement Team consists of specially trained volunteers who visit and support the bereaved. The CTK Pioneers meet monthly in the parish library to support the work of the parish.

The parish employs a Director of Music who works with the parish choir and visits both schools to prepare the Liturgy. The schools participate in a Choral initiative to provide music and singing lessons to pupils. The parish has a Community Centre on the same site as the church, used for family events, conferences, meetings, and by local schools, neighbourhood groups, MP's surgeries, and health visitors.

Regular events

Lenten and Advent Prayer Groups are offered by the parish. An annual Family Camp at the end of the summer holidays is supported by approximately 150 people. A retreat for younger members of the Keralan Community was held at St Augustine's Sports Centre, with about 200 young people attending.

Sacraments and pastoral care

The Pastoral Care Group visits people who are sick, housebound, or in care homes, including non-Catholics on request. Parishioners support the Good Neighbours initiative supporting those who are isolated and alone. The parish's Walking Club is open to the wider community with referrals through AGE UK.
