Christ the Prince of Peace

Music and liturgy

The music ministry is an integral part of every liturgical celebration at Christ the Prince of Peace, with each Mass having a distinct character from traditional to contemporary Christian music. The parish has a strong devotion to Eucharistic Adoration with a rota ensuring a minimum of three adorers per hour slot. The Medjugorje prayer group's meeting includes music, singing, silent prayer time, readings from the Bible and a Medjugorje message. The parish's Medjugorje prayer group is for all people whether they have been to Medjugorje or not.

The parish is a Guild member of the Archconfraternity of Saint Stephen, the patron saint of Altar Servers. The Flower Ministry designs and creates floral arrangements for the altar on a weekly basis and for special liturgical seasons and feast days. The parish's SVP group made over 1,000 visits in a previous year. The parish's Catenian Circle is part of an international association of Catholic men of all ages, who meet socially, normally once a month.

The parish's Justice and Peace group is part of the National Justice and Peace Network. The parish's Bereavement Team accompanies and supports those who are grieving.

Sacraments and pastoral care

The parish requires one year's notice before a wedding can take place, with meetings, paperwork and marriage preparation. If a relative is unwell at home, the family can contact the parish office to request a visit to administer the Sacrament of the Sick. The parish priest meets with the family to discuss and prepare the details of the funeral service. The parish's confirmation application form requires a copy of the child's baptism certificate if baptised outside the parish.
