About Corpus Christi, Weston-Super-Mare
Corpus Christi, Weston-Super-Mare is a Roman Catholic church in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset. It is part of the Diocese of Clifton.
Introduction
Corpus Christi in Weston-super-Mare, within the Diocese of Clifton, traces its origins to a small chapel opened in Carlton Street in 1921, which grew into the present parish in Ellenborough Park South. In 1923 parishioner Daniel Cotter donated land in Baytree Road, Milton, to Corpus Christi for a wooden Chapel-of-Ease called Our Lady of Lourdes. In 1980 the choir had about 20 members and sang four-part harmony under organist and choir master John Walcott. A Divine Mercy candle is kept alight at Our Lady of Lourdes with weekly prayer intentions.
