About St. Peter's Italian Church, Clerkenwell
St. Peter's Italian Church, Clerkenwell is a Roman Catholic church in London, Greater London. It is part of the Archdiocese of Westminster.
Introduction
The campanile and the new loggia on Clerkenwell Road were designed by Francis Tasker and completed in 1891.
Music and liturgy
The organ, damaged during the war, was carefully restored in 1959 and 1995. The choir includes members of many nationalities, among them Italians, English, Irish, Polish, South American, African and Asian singers. The organ has accompanied many illustrious singers, including the tenor Beniamino Gigli.
Sacraments and pastoral care
The adult Confirmation course is open to adults preparing for Confirmation, as well as those seeking Baptism or full reception into the Catholic Church.
